Week of December 8th thru 14th

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL meets 8:30 – 9:20 A.M. each Sunday in the west Sunday School room. The class is studying Prophecy. This Study examines Old Testament promises and fulfillment of those promises in the New Testament. The school of prophets, the end of the world, and much more. All adults are welcome!

FLOWERS – The flowers on the altar today are given to the glory of God by the Heller family in honor of Marie Heller’s birthday.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS: Wednesday – 7PM Advent Service Saturday – 11AM Sacred Heart Service

2020 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES are in your mailbox!

2020 JANUARY – MARCH PORTALS OF PRAYER are in the information rack in the east entrance and on the table in the back of the church.

ADVENT SERVICES will be Wednesday evenings December 11th and 18th at 7PM. This Wednesday will be: “Jesus Is The Son of Abramham” Matthew 1:1. Fellowship with cookies and coffee will follow the service.

DECORATING OF THE CHURCH will be today Sunday, December 8th.

CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will be Sunday, December 22nd during morning worship. There will be a practice Sunday, December 15th following morning worship.

JESUS BIRTHDAY PARTY is Sunday, December 22nd following morning worship. There is a signup sheet to donate cookies on the table in the east entrance.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS – Would you like to remember our Pastor along with our Seminarians Matthew and Mark with a special gift at Christmas time? You may place your gift in an envelope, clearly marked with the Pastor’s, Matthew’s or Mark’s name and put it in the offering plate.

CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE is Tuesday, December 24th at 8PM with Holy Communion.

POINSETTIAS – As we have done in past years, we will be placing poinsettias around the altar for our Christmas service. This year you may order your single red poinsettias for $13.00 each or bring you own plant to the church no later than Friday, Dec. 20th.  Anyone interested in ordering your plant there is a signup sheet on the table in the east entrance. Last day to place your order is today Sunday, December 8th. If you order a poinsettia we will place a slip of paper inside the plant with your name on it. Make checks payable to the Immanuel Chancel Society. Place payment in an envelope marked on the outside with your name and note it is for poinsettia flowers and place it in their drawer in the east entrance. If you bring your own plant be sure to write your name on a slip of paper and place it in the flower pot. Plants may be taken home following the Christmas Eve Candlelight service or at your earliest convenience.

THE CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE – We are going to do the giving tree this year. The Christmas tree with ornament tags is in the east entrance. Please return the gifts wrapped with tags attached by December 15th. Any questions please see Elizabeth Pfafman.

2020 ALTAR FLOWERS CHART is up!! We are in need of the following date: February 2, March 1, 29, May 24, June 28, October 4, November 1 and December 13. The cost is $30 for the 2 vases. If in memory of someone or in honor of a special occasion, please make a note of that. Make checks payable to Immanuel Chancel Society and place it in their drawer in the east entrance.

BRIDGE BUILDERS will begin our second winter session on Monday, January 6 and continue for ten weeks ending on March 9. We are looking forward to another session with your children and seeing new faces too!

AVILLA FOOD PANTRY – Please don’t forget the needy people in our community. You may place your food donations in the box in the east entrance.
