Week of November 4th thru 10th

CHURCH OFFICE – If you need to meet, speak, or make an appointment with the Church Secretary the office is open on Monday and Wednesday. If you need to meet or speak to Pastor Kuhlman you can always reach him on his cell 812 361-7403 and at his home 260 338-1997. Please note that the church will be locked at all times unless two people are present.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL meets 8:30 – 9:20 A.M. each Sunday in the west Sunday School room. The class is studying Exploring God’s Word – New Testament. All adults are welcome!

FLOWERS – The flowers on the altar today are given to the glory of God by Terry and Grace Housholder.

MEETINGS THIS WEEK – Monday – 6PM Elders, 6:30PM Bridge Builders and Trustees, 7PM Church Council, Wednesday – 10AM Bible Study, Saturday – 11AM Sacred Heart Service

ALL SAINTS’ Celebration is today Sunday, November 4th.

CONGREGATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEETING next Sunday, November 11th following morning worship. We will be voting on the 2019 budget and the 2019 Officers.

The 3rd quarter report and proposed budget can be found in the 2nd shelf of the information rack.

SERVING YOUR CHURCH AND YOUR LORD
If you are asked to serve in the various offices in the congregation please give it prayerful consideration. We, at Immanuel, always need to be a part of the offices and services in growing to be a family oriented congregation. Again, please give prayerful consideration to volunteer, serve and help grow with our Lord’s guidance!

ARMED SERVICES SUNDAY is next Sunday.

THE 2019 ALTAR FLOWER CHART is up! The cost is $30 for the 2 vases. If in memory of someone or in honor of a special occasion, please make a note of that. Make checks payable to Immanuel Chancel Society and place it in their drawer in the east entrance.

CHANCEL SOCIETY sign up sheet for 2019 is up in the Chancel Room on the inside of the 2nd upper cupboard door. Anyone interested in joining us please contact one of the Chancel members.

THANK YOU to everyone that donated pies for the St. James Restaurant Annual Fundraising Dinner!

THANK YOU to all that donated the eggs, noodle machines and fans for the noodles. We had 54 dozen eggs donated along with 55lbs of flour, salt and olive oil. Thank you to Patsy Leiter, Bethel Buckles, Glee Norden, Billie Gienger, Pat Buckles, Donna Kurtz, Sylvia Bergman, Vi Wysong, Rose Kienzler, Elizabeth Pfafman, Deb Perkins, Avarie Perkins, Pastor Kuhlman, and Paul DeLong, for all of your help in separating the eggs, making the noodles and bagging the noodles. It made for a wonderful
fellowship. We had 90 bags of Egg Noodles and 14 Egg White Noodles!! Blessings, Sherri and Shelia

LUTHERAN WITNESS – It is time for the annual renewal of the Lutheran Witness Magazine. The price is $19.00 for the year. Anyone interested in receiving the magazine please contact Shelia in the office by November 18th.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BENEFIT TURKEY DINNER
FUNDRAISER AT ST. JAMES RESTAURANT
Today after morning service is the St. James Restaurant’s Annual
Fundraising Dinner from 11:00AM until 2:00PM. Local churches and St. James Restaurants donate and serve a fantastic, full thanksgiving meal, all for a minimum donation of $5.00 per plate. This is by far the biggest, single fundraiser for the Avilla Christmas Charities and an awesome time for the communities to come together in fellowship.

AVILLA CHRISTMAS CHARITIES Avilla Christmas Charities, which is a group of volunteers from the Avilla Chamber membership and from the churches of St. Mary of Assumption, Immanuel Lutheran and Avilla United Methodist, have been raising funds throughout the year and are working on additional activities, such as a hat and glove drive and food and toy drives, as well as the Annual Christmas Benefit Turkey Dinner, which will be held on Sunday, November 4th at the St. James Restaurant, to be able to help provide a joyful and happy Christmas to children and families in the Avilla and LaOtto area. Applications can be found on the table in the east entrance. *Must live in Avilla or LaOtto Indiana
*Must qualify as low-income per Indiana state guidelines
*Must submit a signed and completed application by November 16, 2018

BIBLE STUDY FALL MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY
Midweek Bible Study will meet this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. We will be studying the Bible readings for the following Sunday morning. The Bible readings this week is: November 7 – 1 Kings 17:8-16, Hebrews 9:24-28, Mark 12:38-44

AVILLA FOOD PANTRY – Please don’t forget the needy people in our community. You may place your food donations in the box in the east entrance.

Remember to mark your calendars for the St. James Restaurant’s Annual Fundraising Dinner, next Sunday, November 4th at the St. James Restaurant, 11:00AM until 2:00PM. Local churches and St. James Restaurants donate and serve a fantastic, full thanksgiving meal, all for a minimum donation of $5.00 per plate. This is by far the biggest, single fundraiser for the Avilla Christmas Charities and an awesome time for the communities to come together in fellowship.

Immanuel is asked to donate 23 pies! There is a sign up sheet on the table in the east entrance. Please deliver your pie or pies to the St. James Restaurant on Saturday, November 3rd anytime or Sunday morning and let them know they are for the Turkey Dinner. Thank you!!

BAZAAR – next Saturday, November 3rd from 8-2. We have donation lists for the noodles, workdays, and food needed for the luncheon on the table in the east entrance.

Also Raffle tickets are on the table in the east entrance please pick them up today! Please give tickets and money to Shelia or Sherri. Also you can bring them with you on the day of the bazaar.

Proceeds from the bazaar go to Common Grace, Avilla Food Bank and Lutheran Life Villages Auxiliary. Let’s give the glory to God where it belongs and fellowship along the way with Him. Sherri and Shelia

BAZAAR WORKSHOPS – We will be bagging noodles tomorrow Monday, October 29th at 9 AM.

BIBLE STUDY FALL MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY

BRIDGE BUILDERS – Parables of Jesus – The fall session if thru Monday, November 12th. Kid’s Club at Immanuel Lutheran Church will be every week from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Games, music and more! Learn to build bridges by loving God and loving others. Bring a friend! Questions? Call Vi at 260-760-6856. Parents, if you have an evening you would enjoy staying to help, please call Vi!
